Huh? No. 2

DSC_0007

Sometimes one pulls alongside the sidewalk to park, turns off the ignition, pulls out the key, undoes the seatbelt, opens the door and gets out, shuts and locks the door, and walks away to one's apartment. One must have been out of earshot when part of the--what is that--tailpipe and muffler clanked onto the pavement.

When one returned, did this piece remain behind the vehicle, ready to be noticed and picked up and put into the backseat so that one could drive to a car repair garage and get it reattached? I don't think it would fit in the trunk; in fact, it might not even fit in the backseat. Or did one drive off without seeing it, not realizing it had fallen off? Did the Volkswagen sound drastically different? Were the fumes in places where there hadn't been fumes? We'll never know--unless you yourself have had a similar experience which you'd share with us in a comment. Thanks!

Here's my theory: If you come home late, drunk you never hear it. In AM must be startling to hear...

I hope they see it before they drive off.

Seeing that must result in a headache for the owner.
