Portentous omens?
I'm standing at the bathroom sink, brushing my teeth with my brand new toothbrush. It's obvious that the sun's shining now, after a whole lot of rain during the night and early morning. I raise the blinds to take a look out the window.
Ah.
Only neutral-colored vehicles visible along the sidewalks, beneath the virtually leafless trees. Omens, a portent of things to come, I wonder. Gray skies. White snow. Brown leaves. Black ice.
I walk out into the living room to get my camera. After raising the window and taking out the sliding-half-screen, I turn on the camera and focus just as the girl and the guy walk into view on this side of the street and the man steps into view from behind the tree trunk across the street.
Ah.

Fitting.
It's sort of a neutral colored place we live in isn't it.

Strong winds have stripped the leaves from our trees too. I'm sorry you can't read the text on my blog...I have no idea why this is :o(
I liked everything in your post today but the word that used to cause terror when I drove one of the first Corvairs to and from Dayton, Ohio.
Black Ice.
Mercy.
This old man's post brought tears on this Veteran's Day but not because I am a Korean War era veteran.

The leaves sure have fallen. They make a mess but they make a pretty picture.
I like your explanation and reflections on the colors and omens ... As for the photo what struck me was how nicely all the cars were facing one direction. I assume the street is a one way street.
nice post
Hi Lynette; the only difference today on my blog was that the text was in black....I've changed my old blogposts text to black now...let me know if it makes a difference :o)
Seeing all those leaves made me wonder if people ever have to dig out their car to drive in the morning!
Each season brings its own wonder. The street with all the leaves down enables you to see more and finding the beauty in the scene is what is important. Snow is beautiful! Can't wait to see your street covered in snow. :)
Hope I have corrected my blog, please check it again.

And I have to tell you... I first saw the photo, which looks like you were *out too far* again. :-) But that wasn't the worst. At first glance, I read your first line of print as -- "I'm standing IN the bathroom sink..." Tee, hee, hee..
See, you are *trying* to scare me out of my wits. ,-) Visualize my thoughts... "She took this shot out the window, while standing IN her sink!!!!!!!" Eeeeeeeeeeeel! LOL!

Neutrality isn't half bad, I guess. Seems more of a Monday morning deal than that for a Sunday. At least everthing appears to be an accesory of eachother.
Still, this is a captivating street scene.
I also notice 3 Jeeps, add mine, that makes four. This blows that whole theory "There's only one Jeep".
How do you always find people to match the cars? And cars to match the leaves? Very interesting.
