Taken through the closed door, on May 6, 2009, of John Helmer's, Haberdasher in downtown Portland.

Taken through the open door on June 13, 2009.

Which perspective do you like best?

The top one is better in some ways because the emphasis is on the hats. Although the bottom shot is clearer, that emphasis is lost because of the inclusion of the jackets, etc. If I were you, I'd crop the 2nd photo. Then it will be the best by a long shot!

oh, but looking again, the colours are much warmer and deeper in the top photo, especially the wood.

Neat shots, both of them. Love the tones on the first one.

Thanks, y'all. I forgot to say that the top one was at night, with available light only. I think that gave it the better tone. The second one was taken on a warm, sunny afternoon. I myself like the top one better, for the tone and the perspective. Would that it were in better focus. Maybe next time.
