Been gone. Bad elbow better. Back now.

My two sons. Lamont and Leland, left to right. Mama and I wouldn't be in Portland, Oregon, if it weren't for the two of them. Lamont arrived here first in September, 2000. Leland visited him in October, 2001, and moved here in July, 2003. Mama and I visited the two of them in June-July, 2004, and moved here in June, 2006. I know it's mushy, but I believe you can actually see the love in this photo. To tell you the truth, I've not heard of another instance where sons who've moved over 2600 miles from home have encouraged their widowed mother and grandmother to join them in their new hometown. Mama and I are blessed to be in this city. I work 40 hours a week, but I feel like I'm on vacation every weekend. Mama's felt like she's been on vacation since we moved to Portland. We adore our new hometown. But the best, absolute best thing about Portland is that Lamont and Leland live here, too!

The guys are on their way to The Circuit Gym where they partake in indoor bouldering. Oh, about my elbow. The left one ended up with tendonitis, painful but now under control.

You certainly can see the love and feel it too! Portland is a much better place since your family has moved here. A city is landscape waiting for people, an initial spirit is inherent with this landscape or place, but its the people who enhance bring this spirit in to our daily lives. I read your blog because you show this spirit through your sharing of family and eclectic beauty of our citizens with your photography.
Portland loves you for it!

You've figured it out, Jim!

Michael, thank you so much for your wonderful comment. I have just read it to Mama, and she says thank you, too!
