Seen at the Grand Floral Parade, No. 1

P6110207

Twenty minutes after the parade was supposed to start, well north of this location, this little guy, along with lots of other children. enjoyed making or chasing bubbles, depending on who would spend money for you. I couldn't help but think--as I watched him chasing every which way, jumping, swinging what I believe was a purple water-filled balloon on a stretchy tether--that he'd be a tired little guy on the way home. Probably snoozing in no time, having to be gently aroused for lunch unless the adults in charge knew him to be one better left to sleep until he woke himself.

It's obvious in this photo that the money was spent for the older children to have the bubble-making stuff; I'd have done that if I were spending my money because you'd think the older children would be less likely to just pour out the liquid.

Someone bought this guy a bubble-blowing gun. Let me tell you, enough of those flew right at me to have to dodge them after one popped close enough for me to taste it. Yuck! That colorful entity on the left of the photo is a head-band-with-streamers vendor. All sorts of vendors walked the parade route, selling eye-catching items aimed at kids of all ages.

See, another adult's reaction to all those bubbles coming his way!

Now there's a bubble war! And a confused toddler walking along with his mom.

The little guy really enjoyed the bubble gun's spewing so many bubbles so quickly. The girls got to pick their own headbands-with-streamers when the vendor paused right in front of where I sat.

Fascinating fish at the Rain Forest Cafe at Downtown Disney in Anaheim, California

Jenna was the first to notice this fish and its attraction to the bubbles in the tank which was behind me, over my right shoulder. She called our attention to it, and soon Sharon and I were just as fascinated with its antics. We watched the fish swim around the tank, return to the bubbles, play for a while, then repeat the entire process, over and over. See what I mean? It was like the fish was standing on its head. In this photo, the fish is at the top of the bubbles, and another unique one is swimming by--reminds me of Bob Hope! Behind Sharon and Jenna I had a great view of another fish tank. The slowly moving fish kept me looking and looking. Look at the variety--speckled fish, yellow fish, blue fish with reddish markings, orange and blue fish, silver fish. Seeing them was a colorful treat.

Seen in conjunction with The Big Float, No. 3

Bubbles, bubbles everywhere, even on this dog's nose! I know you're wondering what this photo has to do with The Big Float. Before I realized I was standing in the wrong place to see any close-up float action, I stood with a couple and their two dogs just south of the Hawthorne Bridge, thinking eventually the float would go by right in front of me, well to the back of me if you look at the perspective of this photo. I call it serendipity because I got to watch this dog have such a good time trying to catch the bubbles being blown by a little girl. Not once were they close enough for a good shot of the two of them together, but I still like these two in particular.

I tried here to crop and alter the photo in order to make the bubble more visible. Not sure I succeeded. It's right there where the nose meets the dog's coat, just on the right side of the snout.

Here's one more. I think there are two bubbles on the nose this time!

See two? I do.
