1963 or 1969 Jaguar E Type (I can't read the sign in the windshield, and I forgot to take a separate photo of it! I'm leaning towards 1969--does anyone know?)

And another award winner, BEST OF MARQUE-CLOSED, 1971 Volvo 1800E, owner Wayne Derrick. Guess what? I think I remember this right. We used to go to church with Wayne back in the day, down home in Mississippi! One time LeRoy and I went to a Sweetheart Banquet at Alta Woods Baptist Church, and Wayne was part of a barbershop quartet that entertained. Wonderful memories, brought on by the small world we do inhabit.

Yep, this one is a winner, too! MOST ELEGANT OF MARQUE-CLOSED, 1966 Aston Martin DB6, owners Howard and Marilyn Laramy.

They're back ... autumn leaves and Volvo.

111307_volvo_red_vert_enhanced

I'm walking south on NW 21st on last Thursday, towards West Burnside when I look up for a second, checking to see if the little white man is lit up in the crosswalk sign. I see these trees, and I forget all about the crosswalk. Regular viewers recognize the sign on the roof and the building as Jim Fisher Volvo. I guess regular time isn't all bad.

I can't help myself, y'all,
It's back to the leaves of fall.
I swear they're not just in my head.
I still see rust, gold, orange and red
Every which way on the street that I look,
So get ready for the photos that I took!

(Posting early--going over to my older son's for dinner.)

Shades of Blue

Living in a city affords the unique in the midst of what ought to be the mundane. For instance, Jim Fisher Volvo--a multi-story car dealership at 21st and Burnside, in the Northwest Hills. Where I come from car dealerships are multi-acre, so this place fascinates me.
