Coming. Going. Unique

DSC_0764

Hair color says a lot. "Look at me!" "I'm brave." "I'm one-of-a-kind!" Some hair color speaks loudly.

Do you think the tattoo is in progress? I myself cannot imagine that someone who made the conscious decision to have hot fuchsia-colored hair would have a bland, outlined only, great big tattoo across her back.

I took these photos on July 24, 2009, at the intersection of SE Hawthorne Blvd. and SE 37th Avenue.

Two young men who took great pains to get their hair just so.

It's windy, you say?

DSC_0122p_p
Back on November 3 as I waited for the 4 bus at the corner of SW 5th and Salmon, leaves swirled and flew. Then I saw this lady waiting to cross SW 5th, her hair flying every which way. Couldn't resist snapping a few.

The absence of color waits to board the 70 bus

DSC_0444p_750
I took this photo looking north at the intersection of NE Sandy, NE 12th and East Burnside. The 70 bus stop is on NE 12th. Perhaps someone is inside the bus at the door, about to step off. I say this because it appears the woman with the white hair hesitates, with her right knee bent, before stepping forward. She seems to be looking straight into the bus, too, which makes me think she sees someone moving towards the door. Or perhaps I just clicked at the split second that captured her beginning to move. What do you think?

Colorful walks beside the MAX

DSC_0251p
Once again I'm at the MAX station near the Lloyd Center Mall. Only difference between this photo and the others with the colorful hair is that this time I'm on the same side of the fence as her.

Colorful rides the MAX

DSC_0250p
I couldn't get focused quick enough to get a photo of this woman before she got on the MAX. However, I did manage to get this one that shows her vivid pink hair after she had taken a seat. And how about that autumn leaf stuck on the fencing? It sort of looks like a feather, stuck there on purpose. By the way, this is the MAX station near Lloyd Center, a shopping mall, and it's where I saw a cute girl clown with shocking, neon, sort of purplish pink hair.

Vivid, seen on the streets of Portland

DSC_0152
I love the way the sunlight enhances her hair. They are on the corner of SE 37th and Hawthorne. I took this photo on the way to 3 Doors Down Cafe.

By the way if you want to see some steaming mud, take a look at Mama and Me from PDX, my other blog.

ABC Wednesday – H is for Head and Hair

ojmann_prim_lips2

Whether or not some view the inverted, golden ice cream cone shapes on her head as hair remains open to dispute. Not to me, but to some. Shoot, I would willingly wear my hair like that if my head looked as good as hers.

When a boutique in downtown Portland closed business recently, for several days she stood alone, her back to window. Then she was gone.
