Lovely flowers around downtown Portland

April 9, 2010, I got off the bus on the way home, somewhere in downtown, so that I could photograph these tulips. Flowers on display all around downtown Portland always make me happy. Mama loved to see them, too.



We talked about the beautiful hanging baskets, too. I took this photo July 11, 2009, on SW 9th at SW Morrison.

What's your opinion of these tulips from the Portland Farmers Market?

I got these tulips on May 9 and couldn't resist taking several photos of them. When I looked at the photos, seeing how perfectly the vendor's newspaper wrap had been folded around them to reveal the Opinion section heading, I felt, "Ah, serendipity!"

I took this photo in the conference room at the PCPA--I went to an usher meeting after leaving the farmers' market--Sarah gave me a ride, that's why I was in an elevator in a parking garage.

Tulips, wide, from more than one direction

For me, photographing red is difficult. I can't explain the pinkish parts of these tulips. I wish I could have captured their true vivid beauty as I saw it.

Corporate landscape--yellow tulips

One among the many aspects of Portland that I enjoy is the variety of landscaping at businesses all around the city. These yellow tulips and their colorful neighbors inhabit a small bed at One Main Place, across the street from the great big hole. Friday the wind blew hard and long, continuing after work when I took this photo. You can see evidence of that on the right where some tulip petals have come loose.
