On August 22 when I walked into the building and over to the elevators, I read a sign that said something like this, "Only one elevator is operational. Facilities has been notified." Too many people stood waiting. I walked the three flights to my floor, carrying my rolling black bag. On the way from one landing to another in the stairwell, I decided to make the most of the opportunity and took this photo of the stair rail.
What surprise photo opportunity have you had lately?
Oh I just raililngs and ironwork that make the most lovely little abstract photographs. I like this one sooo much. The nice soft colored background is perfect. When life gives you lemons.... well, you know!

ReplyDeleteNow that you know where the stairs are you can take them every day Lynette. Set an example for the whole building.
Of course if it's 20 floors high there could be limits to the amount of participation.

ReplyDeleteI really like stairwells - look up them from the bottom or down them from the top often yields some great shots. At the Glasgow Lighthouse (our Centre for Architecture, Design and the City) recently I went down the stairs for the first time (I wimped out and went up in the lift and elevators, I must admit!), and they have some great opaque glass patterning on the wall, which will feature at some point on my blog!
