This juxtaposition of the used car lot and the bus stop speaks for itself in these days of rapidly rising gasoline prices--surely both will become more busy as more people take the bus and/or rid themselves of larger vehicles. I took this photo on a Saturday, on the way back from the vet, so it's not representative of any sort of commute, but I have noticed much larger crowds on my morning commute for the past two weeks.

That looks like a pretty old used car lot. I, too, am hearing that bus ridership has increased significantly over the last few months here in Seattle. It's understandable.
ReplyDeleteI would take the bus too if it wasn't so inconvenient since I don't live in a big city. Gas is probably higher in CA than in OR. I like your photo and the dealership seems to be filled with gas guzzlers. I wonder if people are getting rid of big cars or all the little ones have already been purchased.
ReplyDeleteA B&W! Don't remember seeing one here, before. But then, maybe I've forgotten.
ReplyDeleteAround here, the use of bus travel has increased too. Excellent. And also, we were just ahead of the trend, by putting more bus routes in, rather recently. All good, all round.
Except for the car salesmen, I suppose. Someone always wins and someone always loses, hu?
