One among the many aspects of Portland that I enjoy is the variety of landscaping at businesses all around the city. These yellow tulips and their colorful neighbors inhabit a small bed at One Main Place, across the street from the great big hole. Friday the wind blew hard and long, continuing after work when I took this photo. You can see evidence of that on the right where some tulip petals have come loose.
I, too, enjoy the flowers around the financial district buildings. I wish I had professional landscapers planting new flowers in my yard regularly.
ReplyDeleteWhat in the world is "the big hole?"
ReplyDeleteThe flowers are really nice. I always think of compliments in color when I plant bulbs like this but never gave burgundy pansies a second thought. I think those are pansies? I like the yellow grass too.
I am becoming a big fan of grasses and have bought a lot of it beginning a couple of years ago. Trying to learn what works and what not to buy because it don't work. And the people who grow this stuff must realize grass is catching on as I see new stuff each season.
Nice post. Enjoyed it.
I like the tulips, but what are the darker colored flowers? I like the color of them.
ReplyDeleteOh, read others comments before posting........burgundy pansies
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Great colors, too.
ReplyDeleteCorporate pride in their landscaping shows a quality of business one might want to patronize. However sometimes I am jealous of the money they have to replace flowers in the changing seasons.
