I have walked by this tall flowering shrub for two springtimes now, on my way to the morning bus or at the beginning of my walk to the second bus, a little over a mile away. I think it's a camellia, but I'm not certain. I do know for sure that it is beautiful and difficult to photograph because the flowers are so white and the leaves are so green.

I think you did a great job photographing it. It's like a flower within a flower.
What a fascinating flower! I've never seen one where the petals lined up like that, layer after layer. Beautifully photographed.
A.
You did a great job on this flower and it is soft enough to see the details and not hard enough to make the edges vivid. Nice work.
Are you sure this isnt from the top of a cake? It looks perfect.
Perfection! Both the flower and your photo!
I salute you! A white flower is soooo hard to photograph! What a wonderful job you did though.
And look at the symmetry! Wow...

Beautiful photo! The petals are perfectly aligned.
I love the macro shots.....I am just trying some.....this is a beautiful flower.
Gorgeous photo ... nobody has answered what it is, so I googled it and can't answer either!! Beautiful shots!
Judging from the leaves, it does look like a camellia, which are in full bloom in the Pacific NW right now. The pointy petals are a little unusual, but beautiful!!!
It's a camellia, all right. I found your blog through Mrs. Nesbitt's and am particularly interested because my husband is from Portland and we lived there from 1985-97. It's fun to see photos of places I recognize!
Oh wow! What beautiful photos - particularly that second one!
