Two readers on NW 23rd Avenue

I often see people reading in Portland. These two appear to be reading newspapers. What do you see people reading in public in your city?

The guy in the door, wearing the white apron with the pizza sauce stain, must work at the establishment the other guy is patronizing--Escape from New York Pizza. Note the Easter bunny complete with a loaded basket--pizza slices, not eggs--on the window. I wonder what will appear in its place now that Easter had come and gone?

  3. Nice work on your Portland blog, Lynette. I especially like this kind of city scene that begs more questions than the information it offers. Outdoor dining and lounging, another sure sign of spring. Thanks for stopping by with your comments. All the best.

  6. That Easter Bunny is so cute!!!!!

Yes, you see people reading. Especially people sitting alone. I think it's almost a *rule,* isn't it? :-) If you eat alone, you read. I'd rather people watch, myself. :-) And read at home, in my comfy chair.

  9. I think I see computer screens read more often than books or newspapers. However, I do have this one photo of a man reading a newspaper. When I posted the photo I called it A perfect Sunday morning.

  10. On the busses and trains, people usually read the free daily papers that lie around. Some read books. I don't notice a lot of people sitting alone at cafes or restaurants in the smaller towns and villages that I pass through, but in bigger places like Zürich you'll notice some.
