Merry Autumn Days

By Charles Dickens

‘Tis pleasant on a fine spring morn
To see the buds expand,.
‘Tis pleasant in the summer time
To see the fruitful land;
‘Tis pleasant on a winter’s night
To sit around the blaze,
But what are joys like these, my boys,
To merry autumn days!

We hail the merry Autumn days,
When leaves are turning red;
Because they’re far more beautiful
Than anyone has said,
We hail the merry harvest time,
The gayest of the year;
The time of rich and bounteous crops,
Rejoicing and good cheer.

  2. Hello Portland! Pardon me for my ignorance but in which part of The States is Portland found? I love those leaves in autumn, eternally beautiful. In Singapore where I live, it's summer all year-round. Very sad case here.

    I have tried to explain how to put links (which is extremely easy, I think) on my blog not to clutter up yours :-))

  11. The orange and yellow colors are amazing. I haven't seen the color change in my neighborhood yet but I anticipate that to happen in a week or two since we just had our first week of fall/autumn weather this week.

  19. Beautiful and stunning! Autum is about the prettiest month, but sadly, it is all too short a time period.

  20. I'm very jealous that you guys have that wonderful color this year! Our trees haven't even started to turn brown because they are so traumatized by the horrible weather all year.

    By the way, Lynette, I'm it, and I'm tagging you. For more information on how to play, go to Nashville Daily Photo

    Love the photos! Out here we haven't yet reached peak. One more week, maybe, but the winds tend to pick up this time of year...
